NEEDMORE, Pa. -- Bernard W. "Uncle Bud" Shaw, 75, of Timber Ridge Road, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at his home.
Born March 10, 1934, in Thompson Township, Pa., he was the son of the late William Edward and Ethel Regina Roberta Fisher Shaw.
He retired in 1994 from Glatfelter Pulpwood, Hancock, Md.
He previously owned and operated Shaw's Custom Backhoe Service.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being with his family and friends.
He was a life member of St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, Hancock.
He is survived by his loving wife, Violet A. Hull Shaw, whom he married March 10, 1953, in Big Pool, Md.; two sons, William R. Shaw, and Craig E. Shaw and wife, Becky, all of Needmore, Pa.; one sister, Nanette Malarkey of Downey, Calif.; one brother, James E. Shaw and wife, Jane, of Needmore; three grandchildren, William R. Shaw II, Jennifer L. Shaw and Rachel Shaw of Needmore; two great-grandsons, Payten Wayne Price and Ean Jacob Shaw; and a number of nieces and nephews.
