Locust Point

The Neighborhoods 1st Locust Point meeting will be Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Congregation B'Nai Abraham, 53 E. Baltimore St. in Hagerstown.

The group will discuss its agenda for the new fiscal year.

Please note the new summer meeting place. Off-street parking is available on the right side of the building. Signs will be posted at the entrance. All are welcome.

Yard sale

St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, at 1020 Maryland Ave. in Hagerstown, will hold its annual yard sale Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon. There will be no sales before 7 a.m.

Lioness Club

The Hagerstown Lioness Club will hold its annual family indoor picnic Thursday, Aug. 6, at Grace United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 721 W. Church St. Parking is available on the Winter and Church street lots.


Social time begins at 6 p.m., followed by the meal at 6:30 p.m.

The picnic is for Hagerstown Lionesses, their family members and house guests. The picnic is considered to be a regular meeting for the Lioness Club.

Any Lioness who plans to attend and did not make a reservation at the July meeting should call 301-797-6188 or 301-791-7809. Cancellations must be made, as well.

Lions Club

Tuesday - John Frye, curator of the Western Maryland Room at Washington County Free Library, will be the guest speaker.

Outgoing sight and hearing chairman Reggie Fallin filed the final collection report for the year: 186 glasses, 94 cases, four frames, two hearing aids and 278 lenses.

Humane Society plans rabies clinics

The Humane Society of Washington County will hold rabies clinics Saturdays, Aug. 8 and Sept. 19.

The clinics will be held in conjunction with other events.

The Aug. 8 clinic will be held during the annual Dog Wash at the shelter at 13011 Maugansville Road in Hagerstown from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Sept. 19 clinic will be held during Bark in the Park at Doub's Woods Park in Hagerstown from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The rain date for the Sept. 19 event will be Sept. 26 at Doub's Woods Park.
