TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 77 held its weekly meeting, and the best losers for the week were TOPS Debbie Hardin with a 4-pound loss and KOPS Louise Cline with a 7 3/4-pound loss. Debbie also won the Get-R-Done for the week.

Kathy Freese presented a program titled "The Journey," comparing the weight-loss journey to taking a cruise.

Janice Frye will talk about "The Keys to Inspiration" at the next meeting.

The group meets Mondays at First Christian Church, 1345 Potomac Ave., Hagerstown. The meeting is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. For more information, call Donna 301-223-8143.

TOPS 446



TOPS (Take off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 446 had another net loss at its July 22 meeting.

Group leader Mary talked about her trip to Orlando, Fla., for International Recognition Days.

Wednesday's meeting will be a Fun Day.

The group meets Wednesdays at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 19731 Shiloh Church Road in Hagerstown. Weigh-in begins at 8:45 a.m. and the meeting is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. For more information, call Tom or Mary at 301-797-2547 or call Judy at 301-739-9279.

Allegany Dental Care staff helps at events



The Allegany Dental Care staff recently participated in community service day.

Doctors, staff and family members volunteered to help at Brook Lane's Scoops and Wickets Family Fun Day. As part of Brook Lane's 60th anniversary celebration, the Allegany staff helped with children's games.

Also, Eleanor Harmison, Jackie Farester and Kathy Gray volunteered their dental services at the Mission of Mercy event at Hedgesville (W.Va.) High School. This was a program offering free dental services for people who could not afford treatment. They were a part of approximately 745 volunteers who worked over a two-day period.

Eleanor, Jackie and Kathy described it as an "awesome" experience.

Members of Allegany Dental Care said they find it rewarding to share their time and talents for community-oriented projects throughout the year.

Class of 1944 planning reunion



The Hagerstown High School class of 1944 will hold its 65th class reunion Saturday, Sept. 26, at noon at the Plaza Hotel.

The reunion will include a hot buffet luncheon. The reunion costs $25 per person.

Reservations are needed by Sept. 19.
