CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- An unidentified man was killed Friday when his pickup truck collided with another truck on U.S. 30 near St. Thomas, Pa.

Pennsylvania State Police said the man was traveling west on U.S. 30 about 1 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, his 1998 Chevrolet pickup truck crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a 1994 Ford flatbed truss truck driven by Roger Stewart, 61 of Waynesboro, Pa.

Stewart sustained minor injuries in the accident, police said.

Police did not say if either driver was taken to a local hospital.

The accident closed U.S. 30 for about three hours and caused backups and congestion on Lincoln Way West.

Motorists were asked to take an alternate route until the accident was cleared about 4 p.m.

Investigating Trooper Donn Reid was not available for comment Friday night.

Police said no other officers had information on the accident.
