Hedgesville man charged with arson in brush fire

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- A Hedgesville, W.Va., man is accused of starting a Feb. 21 brush fire at 1300 Locust Grove Road near Hedgesville, W.Va., with a road flare, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.

Joseph T. Kenney, 21, of 79 Joe's Drive in Hedgesville, was arraigned Thursday by Magistrate Sandra L. Miller on one count of willfully, unlawfully and maliciously setting fire on lands, according to court records.

Assistant State Fire Marshal M.R. Lambert said Kenney gave a statement indicating he set the fire, according to court records.

W.Va. men charged with sexual assault

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Two men have been charged with having sex with a 13-year-old girl, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.

David Joshua Cameron, 18, of Kearneysville, W.Va., and Michael Cody Hose, 19, of Martinsburg, each were arraigned this week on one felony count of third-degree sexual assault, according to court records.

The victim admitted to having sex with the men and did not indicate in an interview with authorities that the encounters earlier this year were forced, according to a complaint filed by West Virginia State Police Sgt. D.E. Boober.

Berkeley County man charged with possession of controlled substances

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- A Martinsburg-area man was arraigned Wednesday on four felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a case investigated by West Virginia State Police, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.

Joshua Jason Raymond, 20, of 54 Freedom Lane, is accused of dealing methadone, Oxycodone, ecstasy and heroin, according to a complaint filed by State Police Trooper J.D. Schuessler.

Raymond allegedly was involved in drug-dealing activities earlier this year at 166 Walter Drive off Poor House Road west of Martinsburg, according to Schuessler's complaint.
