Air National Guard Airman 1st Class David D. Vinson, son of Michelle and Dave Vinson of Hagerstown, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

Vinson is a 2005 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.

Pvt. Jeremy Dosier graduated from the U.S. Army 198th Infantry Brigade in Fort Benning, Ga., May 29. He will be stationed at Reisterstown, Md.

Army Pvt. David T. Gilles, son of Casey and Ann Gilles of Hagerstown, and sister of Casandra Gilles of Baltimore, graduated from the Infantryman One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga.

The training consists of Basic Infantry Training and Advanced Individual Training.

Gilles is a 2003 graduate of Patapsco High School in Baltimore.

Army Pvt. Tyler A. Burgan, son of Karen Burgan of Smithsburg, graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.


Burgan graduated in 2008 from Smithsburg High School.

Kevin C. Pelletier, son of Kevin J. Pelletier of Lodi, Wisc., and Marion S. Pelletier of Williamsport, has been commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army after successfully completing the Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) program and graduating with a bachelor's degree from the Virginia Military Institute, Lexington.

Pelletier will be branched to a specific corps in the Army to serve on active duty or in the National Guard or Reserve. He will attend an officer course relating to his specialty. Afterward, he will complete advanced training by attending basic officer leadership courses.

Pelletier will be assigned to the 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, Watertown, N.Y.

Pelletier is a 2004 graduate of Williamsport High School.

Navy Seaman Recruit Robert Fales, son of Sandra B. Fales of Clear Spring, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Fales is a 2006 graduate of Clear Spring High School.

Air Force Airman Chelsea M. Kemper, daughter of Wendy Kemper of Gettysburg, Pa., and Donald Kemper of Cascade, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

Kemper is a 2003 graduate of Gettysburg Area High School.

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Cody L. McCarthy, son of Rodney McCarthy of Clear Spring, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

McCarthy is a 2007 graduate of Clear Spring High School.

Lisa K. Doyle was one of 32 Maryland employers who were invited to tour the 445th Wing facilities at Andrews Air Force Base, Md., and fly a mission on a KC-135 Stratotanker to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

The Maryland Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve employer Bosslift event allowed employers and supervisors to visit training sites to observe Reserve Component members perform their duties as part of the Total Force. The employers had the opportunity to observe and experience military members perform the job of a refueling boom operator on a Stratotanker to give them an understanding of what their guard/reservists do when they are performing their assigned duties.

The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve mission is to gain and maintain employer support for National Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the law and resolving conflict through mediation.

Doyle is chancellor of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Acquisition Academy in Frederick, Md.

She is the wife of Gregory Doyle of Ijamsville, Md.

Doyle is a 1978 graduate of Boonsboro High School. She received a bachelor's degree in 1990 from the University of Maryland in College Park, and earned a master's degree in 1996 from Hood College in Frederick.
