CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- The 2009 Farm and Home Safety Day Camp will be held Friday, Aug. 7, at the Franklin County Fairgrounds/Chambersburg Rod and Gun Club.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. with the day's events concluding at 2:30 p.m. The event teaches youths the basic safety rules in many areas of daily living. This year, youths will learn information dealing with guns, camping, grain bin, pool, fire, road and ATV safety. In addition, participants will also attend sessions dealing with drug awareness, oral care and tobacco prevention.
The event is sponsored by the Penn State Cooperative Extension, Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, American Trauma Society, Franklin County Society of Farm Women and the Progressive Agriculture Foundation National Sponsors.
The event costs $4 per child and includes lunch, two snacks, accident insurance and safety materials/goody bag.
