The Little Heiskell Duplicate Bridge Club sponsored two events during the past week.
Seven pairs competed in the regular weekly game Friday, July 17. Anne Carden and David Abuhove finished first in Flight A with a 58.33-percent game. Dick and Lois Taylor tied with Carl Herrick and Ron Clawson for second place in Flight A with 55.21 percent, and Carl and Ron were also first in Flight B.
The club competed in the seventh annual two-session, Swiss Team game "To Play Bridge So Others Could Eat," on Sunday, July 19, on behalf of Food Resources. Twelve teams-of-four played, and enough money was raised to provide Food Resources with more than 7,250 pounds of food for distribution in the Tri-State area. During the seven years that the club has sponsored this event, more than 42,000 pounds of food have been provided to Food Resources.
In the Sunday game, first place in Flight A went to Dick and Lois Taylor, Kurt Kilhefner and Mel Lubart. Second place in Flight A was won by Dennis Wick, Jennifer, Nisenoff, Greg Bright and Ellie Dorsey. Jean Toth, Rick Elbo, Elaine Rowe and Steve Smith came in third in Flight A, and Ann Lebherz, Bob Munger, Bob Osburn, and David Abuhove placed fourth in Flight A. David Watson, Gerry O'Malley, George Caley and Bill Sharp finished first in both Flights B and C, and Bill and Madeline Davis playing with Bob Back and Kathy Goss were second in Flight B.
