MYERSVILLE, Md. -- Mary Priscilla Miller Paden Blank, 89, of Myersville, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2009, at Homewood Retirement Center in Williamsport, Md.

Born, Feb. 9, 1920, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Mary  E. (Stotler) Miller.

Mary's first husband, Mervin Warren Paden, was lost at sea during World War II. Her second husband, Joseph H. Blank, preceded her in death in 1996.

Mary was an active member of Greenbrier Baptist Church near Boonsboro for a number of years. She was a seamstress for many of the sewing factories in Hagerstown, including working for London Fog coat factory. Later in life, she did a lot of sewing crafts. She started a ministry of "pocket-crosses," in which thousands where distributed all over the United States. She was also an Amway representative for many years.


She is survived by one son, John H. Paden of Sneedville, Tenn.; adopted daughter, Judy Southall Davis of West Virginia; grandchildren, Michael Warren Paden of Rogersville, Tenn, Roxanne Paden Miller of Hagerstown and Carol Faith of Hagerstown; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She leaves a number of nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by a brother, Victor Miller.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at 2 p.m. in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor David Coblentz and the Rev. Dick Snyder officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Mary's name to a charity of one's choice.
