Around Funkstown

Something missing?

Don't you just hate it when you lose something and you just can't find it anywhere?

Have you looked at the Funkstown Post Office?

Seriously, don't laugh.

There are several sets of keys that have been left at the post office and no one has claimed them.

I would think it would be so much easier and more cost-effective to see if perhaps that's where you left your keys instead of having a new set made, or worse, having your locks reset.

Here is a big one, though.

Early last week, someone lost something a bit more expensive than keys.

If you lost a ladies' diamond ring, the women at the post office in Funkstown are safe-guarding it for you.

They let me know that it was found in the parking lot and they would love to get it back to its owner. Obviously, you will need to describe it.

If bingo is your game, then get out your calendar and mark down the following dates: Funkstown American Legion will hold bingo July 22, 29, and Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. The Volunteer Fire Co. in Funkstown will offer bingo July 23, 30 and Aug. 6 at 7 p.m.

Lions Club

The group that does so much good for the community, the Funkstown Lions Club, will meet July 22 and Aug. 12 at 6 p.m. at Beaver Creek Country Club.
