Irma Ruth Mowry, 89, of 1202 Hillbrook Drive in Hagerstown, Md., passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at her home.
Born Tuesday, May 25, 1920, in Altoona, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Sherman G. Amick and Stella Hanks Amick.
She was a school teacher for many years, and later worked as an executive secretary.
She was a member of Hagerstown Seventh-day Adventist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, George C. Mowry; and one sister, Lois Jean Reighard of Altoona.
She was preceded in death by five sisters.
Services will be Saturday, July 18, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with Pastor Frank Zollman and Pastor Josue Sanchez officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
