Renfrew Jazz Festival scheduled for Aug. 23

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - One of Waynesboro's most popular events, the Renfrew Jazz Festival, is on tap for Sunday, Aug. 23, from 2 to 4 p.m. on the lawn behind the museum house at Renfrew Museum & Park, 1010 E. Main St.

The featured artists are Joey DeFrancesco on organ, Paul Bollenback on guitar, Byron Landham on drums and Chris McNulty on vocals.

Admission is free. An informal question-and-answer session follows the music. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs; picnics welcome. Rain site to be announced.

Deadline is today for crafts classes at Renfrew

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Spaces are still available for one of Renfrew Institute's summer programs for youth, held at Renfrew Park in Waynesboro.


From July 20 to 24, "Heritage Crafts for Youth" feature crafts from the past for children and teens. Registration deadline has been extended until today. Classes include tin smithing, quilting, leatherwork, basketry, pottery, fibers/textiles and penny rugs.

Church yard sale Aug. 1

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Trinity United Church of Christ, 30 W. North St., Waynesboro, will hold its fourth annual Church Wide Yard Sale on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the rear church parking lot and in Harbaugh Hall.

The sale includes household and kitchen items, books, furniture, electronics and clothing.

Anyone wanting to donate items for the sale may contact the church office at 717-762-7191. Arrangements can be made to pick up large donations.
