Virgil Lamar Hostetter, 34, of 20538 Millers Church Road, Hagerstown, Md., passed away Saturday, July 11, 2009, as the result of a farming accident.

Born Monday, April 21, 1975, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late Nelson Hostetter and Miriam Martin Hostetter of Hagerstown.

He was a self-employed dairy farmer and a member of Millers Mennonite Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lydia Marie Williams Hostetter; three daughters, Melisa Y. Hostetter, Gwendolyn B. Hostetter and Angela D. Hostetter; three sons, Jonathan L. Hostetter, Kenrick L. Hostetter and Londell L. Hostetter, all at home; three sisters, Loretta Martin of New Holland, Ohio, Sylvia Eshleman of Hagerstown and Wilma Martin of Manchester, Ky.; four brothers, James Hostetter of New Holland, Ronald Hostetter of Smithsburg, Md., Nevin Hostetter of Greencastle, Pa., and Lauren Hostetter of London, Ky.; maternal grandmother, Louise Martin of Maugansville, Md.; and paternal grandmother, Ethel Hostetter of Hagerstown.


Services will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Millers Mennonite Church, Millers Church Road, Hagerstown, with the church ministry officiating.

Family will receive friends at Millers Mennonite Church from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 14.

Interment will be in Millers Mennonite Church Cemetery, Hagerstown.

Family requests the omission of flowers.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.
