BOONSBORO -- The Valley Little League All-Stars quickly shrugged off Thursday's heartbreaking 7-4 loss to Conocheague

"After yesterday's loss, the kids just showed up, ready to play," Valley Manager Tim Hartsock said.

That was an understatement.

Joey Schwartz, Caleb Cardone, Timmy Hartsock and Josh Miller combined for six homers, while pitchers Casey Bartholomew and Jacob Barr combined for a one-hitter Friday as Valley eliminated South Mountain from the Maryland District 1 11-12 Tournament with a 26-1, four-inning victory.

Valley took a 3-0 lead in the top of the second inning on the first of Joey Schwartz's two homers.

Valley blew the game open in the third, rallying for 10 runs for a 13-0 advantage. Cardone led the way, hitting two homers in the inning -- a two-run shot and a solo blast. Hartsock's solo homer ignited the rally, and Schwartz and Miller helped fuel it with two-run homers.

South Mountain scored its lone run in the bottom of the third after Cantler led off with his team's only hit.

Valley finished off the rout in the fourth, sending 17 batters to the plate and scoring 13 times. Valley had nine hits and four walks in the inning.

Valley will play at Hancock tonight at 6 p.m.

"We can't wait for tomorrow," Tim Hartsock said.
