MOUNT CARMEL, S.C. -- Malcoma Virginia Brown, 92, of 4266 Highway 81, Mount Carmel, S.C., and formerly of 432 Sumans Ave., Hagerstown, Md., passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at the home of her niece, Ella M. Brown, in Mount Carmel.

Born Friday, Dec. 8, 1916, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Emory Summers and the late Helen King Summers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Brown, in 1984.

She was a former employee of the Western Maryland Railroad.

She was a member of Ebenezer AME Church in Hagerstown.

She is survived by her foster daughter, Malcoma E. Brown-Ekeogu and husband, Kenneth, of Conyers, Ga.; niece, Ella M. Brown of Mount Carmel, S.C.; and a grandson, Bricine P. Brown of Conyers.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Summers; and a brother, Elmer Summers.

Services will be Friday, July 10, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer AME Church, 40 W. Bethel St., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Leroy Jackson officiating.

Family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.
