MYERSVILLE, Md. -- Lillian R. Boring, 100, of Myersville, died Monday, July 6, 2009, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village, Hagerstown.

She was born Dec. 11, 1908, in Baltimore and was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Ida May Miller Stamm.

Mrs. Boring was the wife of the late Matthew L.H. Boring, who preceded her in death in 1983.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Myersville, where she taught Sunday school for many years.

An exceptional cook, she enjoyed preparing large meals for her family and also enjoyed canning vegetables. She loved creating unique crocheted items and delighted in giving them as gifts. Reading her Bible was a very important part of her life.

Surviving is her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Y. Crook Boring; her grandchildren, Cynthia Ann Dunn and John M. Boring; her great-grandchildren, John C. Boring, Matthew, Danielle, Caitlyn, Rachel and Patrick Dunn; her great-great-grandchildren, Lexa and Luke Boring; and her nephews, Freddy Raabe and Carl Dederer.


Also preceding her in death were her son, Matthew H. Boring, in 2008; her grandson, Mark A. Boring, in 1997; and four sisters, Esther, Kathryn, Ida and Ella.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009, at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Myersville, with Pastor David Howell officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 13, Myersville, MD 21773.
