Magnet workshop set for July 16



A workshop on how to make glass magnets will be held Thursday, July 16, at 6 p.m. at the Smithsburg branch of Washington County Free Library.

Those ages 12 to 18 will learn how to take images found in old comic books or magazines, put them behind glass and turn them into magnets.

You can also paint the glass.

The library will provide all of the supplies.

The library is at 66 W. Water St. in Smithsburg.

VBS to be held at Maranatha Brethren



Maranatha Brethren Church, at 19835 Scott Hill Drive, Hagerstown, will hold a Vacation Bible school from July 27 to 31 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

he theme is "Studio Go! Game Show."

The event is for those ages 4 through fifth grade.

Smithsburg Middle collecting box tops



Don't forget to collect box tops over the summer.

The school will have a contest again at the beginning of the school year to see which homeroom can collect the most box tops. This is an easy way to give back to the school.
