Wright Memorial Series

The fourth meet of the Back-on-Track Pete Wright Memorial Series was held Tuesday at North Hagerstown High School.

Male winners:

100 -- Justin Bowie 11.4; 200 -- Bowie 23.4; 400 -- Leon Cardwell 53.7; 800 -- Nick Wilbur 2:14.8; Mile -- Andrew Trettel 5:06.8; 2-Mile -- Dan Dewitt 9:39.5; 4x100 -- Mosley, Anderson, Scott, Elliott 50.3; Long jump -- T.J. Hood 19-8; Shot put -- Matt Bracken 38-6; Discus -- Jim Taylor 99-0.

Female winners:

100 -- Beth Wagner 13.0; 200 -- Kristin Duling 27.6; 400 -- Sarah Hall 1:24.4; 800 -- Alison Harrell 2:43.0; Mile -- Reilly Caldwell 6:59.4; 2-Mile -- Alyssa Meadows 14:41.3; Long jump -- Sarah Harris 14-4 1/2.

Suns reschedule signing session

The Hagerstown Suns will have their pregame team autograph session on July 14 at Municipal Stadium. Gates will open at 5 p.m., with the entire team and coaching staff available to sign for approximately one hour prior to Hagerstown's game against Greenville.

The session coincides with the arrival of the Suns' 2009 team baseball card set at the Municipal Stadium merchandise store. The team set is $8 and fans are welcome to purchase or bring along any other items to be signed.

The event is free to all fans holding a ticket to Tuesday's game.

Caplan makes All-America team

Shepherd University senior catcher Brett Caplan was named to the 2009 College Baseball All-America team by the Jewish Sports Review. The team is comprised of players from NCAA Division II and III and NAIA schools.

Caplan helped lead Shepherd to the WVIAC title and an NCAA Division II regional appearance. He batted .343 with 59 hits in 172 at-bats, six homers, 42 RBIs and a .512 slugging percentage.

Potomac Basketball Camp
