Menno Haven to host educational progam about skin cancer

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Menno Haven will host an educational program on early detection of skin cancer on Tuesday, July 28, and Thursday, July 30.

The program will be presented on four times over two days by registered nurse Joyce Levin from the Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute. On July 28, she will speak at 1 and 2 p.m. at Penn Hall Chapel, 1425 Philadelphia Ave. On July 30, she will speak at 1 and 2 p.m. at Menno Village Chapel, 2075 Scotland Ave.

The presentation is offered free to the public by the Pennsylvania Department of Health as a way to educate the public about all types of skin cancer. In 2006 skin cancer was one of the four leading cancers in Pennsylvania. The ultimate goal of the Cancer Education Network is to reduce the number of deaths from cancer through education and early detection.
