Boy struck by vehicle remains in critical condition

KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. -- A teenage boy who was struck by a vehicle Friday night while riding his bicycle in the area of Fox Glen Drive remained in critical condition Saturday, according to a Shepherdstown Fire Department spokesman.

The 15-year-old boy was flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va., emergency officials said.

The boy was struck in the Fox Glen subdivision off Charles Town Road (W.Va. 9) and hit the vehicle's windshield, said Marshall DeMeritt, the public information officer for the Shepherdstown Fire Department.

The accident was reported at 5:11 p.m., a Jefferson County Emergency Services dispatcher said.
