Suns fall in 14 innings

The Kannapolis Intimidators used three singles -- al with two outs -- and two walks to score four runs in the 14th inning and notch a 6-2 victory over the Hagerstown Suns on Friday in the South Atlantic League.

Suns reliever Kevin Light entered to start the inning and walked Andrew Garcia, who went to second on a scarifice bunt and third on a groundout. Jon Gilmore singled to drive in Garcia, John Curtis walked and Josh Phegley and Brandon Short hit singles to plate three more runs.

The Suns scored their runs in the third and fourth innings, and pitcher Marcos Frias allowed just three hits and a walk while striking out six through seven innings before giving up two runs in the eighth.
