HAGERSTOWN -- A Martinsburg man was taken into custody Thursday afternoon at a house off East Moler Avenue in Martinsburg, W.Va., in connection with a June 26 robbery at M&T Bank at 17724 Garland Groh Blvd., according to a Berkeley County Sheriff's Department officer.

Officers from the Hagerstown Police Department, the Washington County Sheriff's Department, the Martinsburg Police Department, the FBI and the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department responded to 28 Fletcher Court, where Bobby Gene Shelly was taken into custody about 2:30 p.m., Lt. Gary Harmison of the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department said.

Shelly, 33, was watching television in a living room and was apprehended without incident, Harmison said.

The Hagerstown Police Department has a warrant for Shelly's arrest that charges him with robbery and theft over $500, Harmison said.

Shelly was being held without bond Thursday night at Eastern Regional Jail in Martinsburg, a jail spokeswoman said. He will have to be extradited to Washington County for authorities to pursue charges against him, Harmison said.
