MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Virginia P. Tritch, 89, of Martinsburg, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Heartland of Martinsburg.

Born Oct. 10, 1919, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late James Franklin and Lottie May (Dotson) Nichols.

Virginia was a graduate of Hagerstown High School.

She retired as a certified nurse's assistant.

She was an active member of Williamsport Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she was a member of various church offices for more than 25 years, and enjoyed and participated in the women's ministries of the church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clyde B. Tritch.

Virginia is survived by one daughter, Mary Ellen Penner and husband, Roland J., of Martinsburg; one brother, James R. Nichols, Sr. of Waynesboro, Pa.; two grandsons, R. Stephen Penner of Martinsburg and David C. Penner of Leesburg, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be Friday, July 3, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Charles J. Griffin and wife, Evelyn, officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
