EASTLAKE, OH. -- Lake County used a seven-run second inning on Monday to paste a 9-6 loss on the Hagerstown Suns.
The Suns got two runs on three hits, including doubles by Steve Lombardozzi and Tyler Moore, to take a 2-0 victory at the top of the first inning.
After the Captains got one back in the bottom of the first off Suns starter Patrick McCoy (2-2).
Lake County (4-1, 35-37) unleashed a seven-hit, seven-run barrage in the bottom of the second inning to take an 8-2 lead.
McCoy lasted 5 2/3 innings after shaking off the tough second, for the loss.
The Suns got a home run from Moore, his fourth of the season, in the sixth to make it 6-3. They added run in the sixth and single runs in the seventh and eighth to move within three runs.
