A King Air turboprop airplane had difficulty maintaining altitude due to a mechanical problem as it was approaching Hagerstown Regional Airport Tuesday afternoon, an official said.
The plane landed safely and was able to taxi to a hangar, said Phil Ridenour, chief of the Hagerstown Regional Airport Crash Fire Rescue unit.
Ridenour, who was notified at 1:55 p.m., did not have more details about what happened on the plane.
