CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Three people were injured in two traffic accidents Monday in Franklin County, Pa., according to Pennsylvania State Police.

At 1:35 a.m. Monday, a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire was westbound on Lincoln Way West in Chambersburg when the driver lost control and the car crossed the other lane and hit an embankment, police said.

The car became airborne and landed against a covered porch at a home in the 1000 block of Lincoln Way West, according to police.

The driver, James Michael Satterfield Jr., no age given, of Chambersburg, was treated at Chambersburg Hospital and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

In the other accident, a Waynesboro, Pa., woman and a 6-year-old boy were hurt when their 1997 Ford Explorer went out of control while turning from Tomstown Road onto Shank Hess Road at 2:43 p.m. Monday.

The driver, Lasoro Hernandez, 20, and the child were taken to an area hospital.

Hernandez was charged with driving without a license, driving without a seat belt and failure to maintain control of her vehicle, police said.

A Summit Health spokeswoman said Tuesday that no information about Hernandez's condition was available.
