An avid churchgoer since giving his life to the Lord in 1973, he most recently attended Readville Baptist Church in Stony Creek, Va.

A lover of music, he touched many lives over the years through his work with church music programs and children's choirs, as well as through musical performances with his family at various churches, missions and elder-care facilities.

In his free time, when not perusing yard sales for the latest treasure, he cut, painted and adorned eggshells, creating hundreds of Christmas decorations and other ornamental display pieces.

In addition to his wife of nearly 46 years, Judith A. (Lewis) Dodson, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann D. and Michael J. Killiany, of Carbondale, Pa.; a son and daughter-in-law, Christopher P. and Janine L. (Peterson) Dodson, of Stony Creek; a daughter, Lucinda V. Dodson of Ormond Beach, Fla.; six granddaughters, Alyssa F., Ashley M. and Abigail L. Dodson, all of Stony Creek, Jessica A. Killiany of Rock Hill, S.C., Kimberly D. Regal of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Emily L. Killiany of Carbondale; two grandsons, Erin C. and Matthew H. Dodson, both of Stony Creek; two brothers, Mitchell H. and Walter R. Dodson, both of Hagerstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by seven sisters and four brothers.
