The Lewises

Deanie and Donald Lewis of Hedgesville, WVa., celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary March 22, 2009, at Holiday Inn in Martinsburg, W.Va., with family and friends. The celebration was hosted by their children and their spouses. After a buffet luncheon, their children surprised the couple with a video presentation of family photos.

The Lewises have six children, Karen Slonaker and husband Brad of Inwood, WVa.; Cindy Flagg and husband Dee of Vienna, WVa.; Dawn Leasure and husband Mike of Mercersburg, Pa.; Keith Lewis and wife Dee of Inwood; Gary Lewis and wife Bonnie of Inwood; and J.R. Lewis and wife Tammy of Martinsburg. They have 16 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Mr. Lewis was in the insurance business 35 years and retired from Peoples Life Insurance Co.

The Willises

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Willis of Waynesboro, Pa., celebrated their 60th anniversary June 6, 2009, with a family dinner at the Holiday Inn in Frederick, Md.


The Willises have five daughters: Susan Koogle and husband Steve, of Frederick; Julie Bachtell and husband Brian, of Waynesboro; Jenifer Clark and husband Rick, of Middletown, Md; and Allison Luppino and husband Mark, of Huntingtown, Md. Their daughter Mindy Willis Wagaman passed away in 2006. They also have five grandsons, three granddaughters, and one great-granddaughter.

The Willises were married June 4, 1949, at Fort Myer Chapel, Fort Myer, Va. Mr. Willis is a retired army major and is retired from civil service at Fort Ritchie, Md.; Mrs. Willis is a homemaker and a retired part-time dental assistant.

Mr. Willis is originally from Alabama and Mrs. Willis is from Virginia.
