Captains top Suns

June 26, 2009

EASTLAKE, Ohio -- The Lake County Captains scored eight runs in the seventh and eighth innings, ruining a great start by Hagerstown's Brad Peacock and beating the Suns 9-3 in a South Atlantic League game Friday night.

Lake County opened the scoring in the fourth on Chris Nash's RBI single -- the only hit off Peacock, who pitched five innings, walked four and struck out eight in a no-decision.

The Suns took a 2-1 lead on Steven Souza's two-run single in the fifth.

The Captains scored three runs in the seventh to take a 4-2 lead. Nate Recknagel homered and Delvi Cid and Matthew Willard hit RBI singles.

Hagerstown made it 4-3 in the eighth on Charlie Fermaint's two-out single. Lake County blew the game open with a five-run eighth, three scoring on Robby Jacobsen's throwing error.
