WHEELING, W.Va. (AP) -- David Bradshaw has won his fourth West Virginia Open title in six years by beating John Ross in a three-hole playoff at Wheeling's Oglebay Resort.
Bradshaw, a Harpers Ferry, W.Va. native, birdied the second and third holes of the total-score playoff Friday to hold off the 57-year-old Ross. The Freeman resident was trying to win his third Open and become one of the tournament's oldest winners.
Ross shot a 4-under 67 in the final round on the Palmer Course. He birdied three of the final seven holes in regulation, including the par-3 17th, to forge a tie with Bradshaw at 2 under for the tournament.
Charleston's Bosten Miller finished third at 1 under and four others tied for fourth place at even par.
