All Metro red line stations open for rush hours today

June 25, 2009

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro is reopening all red line stations during the morning and evening rush hours, but officials are still warning of delays.

Trains are running again on the red line between the Fort Totten and Takoma stations, where Monday's fatal crash occurred. However, trains will take turns sharing one track in that area Thursday.

Service will be temporarily halted between the Silver Spring and Fort Totten stations from 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday and after 10 p.m. to allow National Transportation Safety Board officials to continue their investigation.

Free shuttles will be available between the Silver Spring, Takoma and Fort Totten stations during those hours.
