Meeting room to be dedicated to Bob Davis

June 24, 2009

CASCADE -- The community meeting room at the Fort Ritchie Community Center will be dedicated Saturday at 11:45 a.m. in memory of Bob Davis, a driving force behind the redevelopment of Fort Ritchie and, specifically, the construction of the community center.

The naming of the meeting room was requested by the board of directors of PenMar Development Corporation as a way to honor Davis' memory and his dedication to the people in Cascade and Blue Ridge Summit, Pa.

Davis, who died in 2005, was one of the founders of the One Mountain Foundation, an organization that works to unite the four mountaintop communities near Fort Ritchie and improve the mountain for the benefit of all through historic preservation and education, promoting culture, hosting mountainwide events and improving the general quality of life for the residents of the mountain, according to a press release from the PenMar Development Corporation.
