Longmeadow Lions

The Longmeadow Lions Club's June 11 meeting featured Thomas Mann from Hagerstown Community College, who talked about the Hagerstown Community College Social Support Services program.

Longmeadow Lions President Alphin presented a check to Mann from yearly budgeted funds in support of this service.

The Longmeadow membership, in conjunction with the Chewsville Lions Club, maintained the food stand at the Kids Stuff Yard Sale June 13.

Past District Gov. David Fisher will install the 2009-10 officers of the club at the June 25 meeting at Always Ron's restaurant.

Yard sale

St. Matthew's Church will host an indoor yard sale, and soup and sandwich sale Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.


Spaces for the indoor yard sale cost $8.

Weather permitting, the yard sale might be moved outdoors. Vendors will be able to load and unload yard sale merchandise at a handicapped-accessible area of the church.

The soup and sandwich sale will offer ham and bean soup with riblets, chicken corn soup, steamers and hot dogs.

TOPS 446

TOPS (Take off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 446 members again had a net loss at its June 17 meeting.

Paula Ernst led the program on "Changing Bad Habits."

Mary will lead Wednesday's program.

At the June 15 TOPS 77 Chapter meeting, Marsha Moats of the Washington County Recreation Department was the guest speaker and spoke about the different exercise programs in the county.

Joanne Little won the "Get-R-Done" contest with a 2 1/2-pound loss. Mary Lou Edmands and Bonnie Henry won the May contest titled "Power Of Three."

The Shining Stars for May were Dina Norris and Deloris Hays.

Linda Lemen will lead today program today.
