Brenda Faye Brenneman Sweeten

Brenda Faye (Brenneman) Sweeten, 60, died Sunday, June 14, 2009, at Golden Living Center in Hagerstown, Md.

Born May 30, 1949, Brenda was the daughter of the late Clyde and Catherine Brenneman.

She is survived by the love of her life, Randy Sweeten, of Hurley, N.M., who she married on June 1, 1991. She is also survived by two dearly loved children, daughter Tammy Bean and husband Rob Manning in Maine, and son Christopher Bean in Indiana; two sisters, Ruth Reeder, Hagerstown, and Carol Brenneman, Guadalajara, Mexico; two brothers, Gerald Brenneman, Fruitvale, Kan., and Leroy Cramer, Goshen, Ind.; and a special friend, Beverly Kipe, Hagerstown.

Brenda graduated from Nappanee High School (Indiana) in 1968, Hagerstown Junior College in 1989 and Western New Mexico University with high honors in 1993. She had a double degree in human services and sociology.

Brenda loved to work on her crafts, including crocheting, quilting, gardening and art; but most of all she loved to go fishing.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, whose staff and volunteers never failed to support Brenda for the last year and a half of her physical life on earth. At her request, Brenda's body was donated to the Anatomic Gift Foundation Inc., for the purposes of medical therapy, research and education.

A memorial celebration of her life is planned for June 26 at 2 p.m. at Pangborn Park, beside the fishing pond.
