Cycling tour to make its way through county



A three-stage Tour de France-style bicycle race will be held Saturday and Sunday with the first stage in Smithsburg, the second stage in Boonsboro and the third and final stage in downtown Williamsport.

The event is sponsored by the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau and Antietam Velo Club.

Summer officially arrives Sunday



Sunday will be the first day of summer. I hope you and your family will be able to enjoy the summer days and take some time to go outdoors and enjoy the season.

Halfway church to host Bible school



The Church of the Holy Trinity, at 17805 Oak Ridge Drive, will host Vacation Bible school, starting Monday.

Those ages 4 to 12 will get the chance to experience "Discover God Everywhere. Camp E.D.G.E.," which will be each evening through Friday, June 26, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Author to be at mall to sign her book



Beth Fantaskey, author of "Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Darkside," will be available Tuesday, June 23, for a book-signing at Waldenbooks at Valley Mall. The book-signing will be from 1 to 4 p.m.

Herbs of Hager's Time tour scheduled



The Jonathan Hager House and Museum in Hagerstown City Park will hold a guided walk through the garden and grounds Thursday, June 25, at 7 p.m. The tour will give a glimpse into some of the herbs commonly grown in Colonial times and their medicinal uses. The event is free.

Tribute planned in Williamsport



A special tribute to Otho Holland Williams, the founder of Williamsport, will be Sunday, June 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Williamsport Town Museum, Springfield Farm Barn. Songs and stories of the American Revolution are planned. For more information, call 301-223-7229.
