Digital TV conversion uneventful, some say

June 15, 2009

The nationwide conversion to digital TV did not affect several residents of Washington County who were interviewed Monday.

Most of them previously switched to digital TV, used a satellite or had digital cable.

Robert Bolts Sr. and Caroline Arellano, both of Hagerstown, said they already were using digital TV, so the switch did not affect them or their TV viewing.

Dave Adams of Hagerstown also was prepared for the conversion and wasn't affected by the switch. He said he thinks changing to digital TV was the right move for the country to make.

"I think it's a good idea because it's time to upgrade our technology toward TV and broadcasting," he said.

Ronald Lytle said he wasn't home during the switch, so he didn't know if there was a problem when it occurred. He said he's had no problems since.
