Greene Twp. mosquito spraying to resume Monday

June 15, 2009

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Mosquito spraying will continue Monday evening in Greene Township, Pa., because the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has reported a high number of mosquitos remain after last week's efforts.

A truck-mounted device will spray Biomist 3 + 15 tonight, with Tuesday set as a rain date, according to a DEP news release.

Large populations of Aedes and Culex mosquitoes, capable of transmitting the West Nile Virus, have been detected in the township.

Residential areas will be sprayed for adult mosquitoes. The control work will begin after sundown.
