SHARPSBURG -- Lynda Lee Norris, 68, of Sharpsburg, Md., died Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Washington County Hospital surrounded by her family.

Born May 24, 1941, in Sharpsburg, she was the daughter of Betty Jane DeLauney Waters of Sharpsburg and the late Dallas Waters.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Ray Norris.

She was the first female ambulance driver in Washington County for Sharpsburg EMS. She was a lifetime member of the Sharpsburg EMS. She touched many lives throughout the community, and will be greatly missed.


In addition to her mother, she is survived by one sister, Lisa Burker and friend, Darin Shifler, of Sharpsburg; one son-in-law, John Souders and wife, Kelli, of Sharpsburg; her beloved dog, Myra; brother-in-law; sisters-in-law; cousin; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Diane Souders; grandparents, Vincent and Mary DeLauney; one aunt, Agnes Flook; and one uncle, Donald DeLauney.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Mark Michael will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
