BOONSBORO -- Harold Lewis Cool, 80, died Friday, June 12, 2009, at Reeders Memorial Nursing Home in Boonsboro, Md.

Born Sept. 18, 1928, in New Oxford, Pa., he was the son of the late James V. Cool and Dortha Irene Cool.

Harold served as a foreman for furniture manufacturing plants in Martinsburg, W.Va., Winchester, Va., and Hagerstown, Md. He also did furniture reupholstering on the side.

He and his wife bought and sold antiques for many years, and operated Cool's Collectibles in downtown Williamsport, Md.

He was a member of the St. James Brethren Church in St. James, Md., where he was a longtime member of the church choir and sang in a variety of smaller church musical ensembles.

He is survived by one son, Dennis Cool (married to Sharon Cool) of Keedysville, Md.; one daughter, Denise Cullison (married to Joe Cullison) of Williamsport; two sisters, Inez Winebrenner of Hagerstown and Janet Martin of Frederick, Md.; two stepsisters, Catherine Dorsey of Hagerstown and Betty Stine of Williamsport; one half sister, Dortha Gordon, and one half brother, Ronald Kershner, both of Hagerstown; two grandchildren, Jamie Cool (married to Bethany Cool) of Raleigh, N.C., and Meghan Murray of Williamsport; and one great-granddaughter, Jenika Hope Cool of Raleigh.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Charles R. Kershner; his beloved wife of 47 years, Mary (Witmer) Cool; one stepsister, Alice Dodge; and one half brother, Robert Kershner.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. James Brethren Church, 17718 Lappans Road, St. James, with the Rev. Brian Moore officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.

A viewing will be Tuesday, June 16, 2009, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The funeral home will be open Tuesday after 9 a.m. for the convenience of family and friends.
