FALLING WATERS, W.Va. -- Dawn E. (Hussey) Myers, 29, of 59 Saunders Drive in Falling Waters, W.Va., died Thursday, June 11, 2009, quietly at her home with her faithful mother, Janet, and stepfather, Robert, at her side after a long and courageous battle with colon cancer. She was a beautiful, tender soul who touched the hearts of all her many friends and family.

Born Aug. 4, 1979, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of Janet S. Saunders of Falling Waters and William C. Myers of Greencastle, Pa.

She also is survived by her brother, Michael; and her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was of the Brethren faith.

She lived with her stepfather, Robert L. Saunders, and her mother, Janet, since she was 10, and attended schools in Hedgesville, W.Va. She went on to graduate from Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg, Md., with the class of 1997.


She loved all kinds of music, cheerleading and animals. She was always quick with a lovely smile and was known for her outgoing personality that made a lasting impression on everyone she met. In her spare time, she continued her love of a very active lifestyle and volunteered her free time by coaching the "Cavaliers," a large cheerleading youth group in the Frederick, Md., area. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Dawn was employed by Montgomery Kitchen and Bath and was a professional kitchen and bath designer for the D.C. metropolitan area.

Robert and Janet Saunders will receive friends Sunday, June 14, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, Md.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 15, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, with Pastors Steve and Shari Baer officiating. Interment will be in Manor Church Cemetery, Tilghmanton, Md.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Van Lear Brethren in Christ Church, 10745 Van Lear Drive, Williamsport, MD 21795.
