Frances Rohrer Davies, 99, formerly of Potomac Towers in Hagerstown, Md., died Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Homewood Nursing Home in Williamsport, Md.

Born May 14, 1910, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John William and Annie Elizabeth Leckrone Rohrer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Alfred Davies Sr., on Jan. 8, 1985.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Hagerstown.

She was a member of the Washington County Hospital Auxiliary and AARP.

She is survived by two daughters, Jane E. Blankenship and husband, Ernie, of Hagerstown, and Judy E. Taylor and husband, Raymond, of Williamsport; two sons, Joseph W. Davies and wife, Karen, of Broken Arrow, Okla., and James Richard Davies and wife, Margaret Anne, of Montclair, Va.; daughter-in-law, Sue Davies of Hagerstown; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, John A. Davies Jr.; three sisters, Grace DeForrest, Mary Shoemaker and Ethel Unger; and four brothers, Robert H. Rohrer, Harold L. Rohrer, William H. Rohrer and Tom Rohrer.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Fred M. Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
