WARFORDSBURG, Pa. -- Elmer L. Hill, 80, of Old 126, died Monday, June 8, 2009, at Sinai Hospital, Baltimore, Md.
Born June 28, 1928, in Whips Cove, Pa., he was the son of the late Harry Franklin and Blanche Smith Hill, and the husband of the late Norma R. Schriever Hill, who died Dec. 27, 1996.
He served in the Merchant Marines during the Korean War.
He retired from Londontown Manufacturing, formerly in Hancock, Md.
He was a member of the Merchant Marines Association.
He had been Justice of the Peace for six years and an election judge in Union Township, Pa.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hancock Ward.
He is survived by one daughter, Adonna Reba Norma Iverson of Orem, Utah; one son, Henry Oren Paul Hill of Provo, Utah; one sister, Mary Jeanette McKee of Warfordsburg; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
