Man found severely burned in Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. -- A report of a man on fire in front of a residence in Frederick sent fire and rescue units rushing to the 500 block of Logan Street early Wednesday, according to a news release from the Frederick County Division of Fire/Rescue Services.

Units arrived within minutes of the 12:32 a.m. call and found a man suffering from burns over 90 percent of his body, the release said.

The man was treated by EMS units on the scene and then was flown to Bay View Burn Center in Baltimore by Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 3, the release said.

Fire investigators from the Frederick County Fire Marshal's Office and the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office were called to the scene to assist detectives from the Frederick Police Department in the investigation, the release said.

The Frederick Police Department is handling the investigation.
