HALFWAY - Stephen Garry Thomas, 56, of Halfway, passed away Friday, June 5, 2009, at his home.
Born Nov. 30, 1952, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Clifford and Frances (Smith) Thomas.
Following his graduation at South Hagerstown High School in 1970, he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He was employed at Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corp. in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Stephen was a member of Williamsport Harley Owners Group and the Izaak Walton League. He was an active supporter of the POW/MIA issue and enjoyed woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelsy Lynn Thomas, in 2007.
He is survived by a son, Clayton L. Thomas of Chewsville; a brother, Edwin A. Thomas and wife, Jane, of Oreland, Pa.; an aunt, Norma Musey of Hagerstown; a granddaughter, Taniyah Thomas of Funkstown; his lifelong friend, David Rice of Halfway; and many other relatives.
