Webster remains mayor of Bath

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. -- Incumbent Susan J. Webster held onto her seat as Bath Town Mayor in Tuesday's election against challenger Barbara Campbell, who ran against her for the second time.  

The complete but unofficial results showed Webster with 161 votes and Campbell with 39 votes. 

The mayor's race was the only contested race in this election. Webster, 56, has held the position since 1996.  

Five candidates ran for the five Bath Town Council seats. Former town council member Kenny Easton and newcomer Jim Slough will join incumbents David Crosby, Scott Merki and Ryan Rebant on July 1.  

Town Recorder, incumbent Irene Hedrick ran unopposed. 

The term is for two years. The annual salary is $500 for mayor, $300 for council members and $1,200 for town recorder. 

The number of registered voters in the town of about 800 residents is 570.

Bath is the local government within Berkeley Springs.
