WILLIAMSPORT -- Williamsport Post 202 started a checklist for all the wrong reasons.
This one wasn't for things to remember. It was more for things to forget.
Williamsport had few things go right on Saturday in 13-3 and 4-2 defeats to lose to Mount Airy in a Western Maryland District American Legion doubleheader.
"Hitting-wise, we did not get the timely hits to score runs," Williamsport coach Duane Myers said. "We left too many men on base. We had a letdown on defense in the first game. We had too many errors. We have to make some improvement in several different areas."
Williamsport never led in either game.
Mount Airy broke through in the nightcap with two runs in the fourth inning. Doug Anuszewski walked and took second on Taylor Henry's sacrifice bunt. Nick Hallis drove in Anuszewski with a double and scored one out later when Mike Virbickis reached on a fielding error.
