Speakers and topics at area houses of worship

St. John's Episcopal Church, the Rev. Mary Glasspool from the diocese of Maryland will lead Sunday's 8 and 10:15 a.m. communion services. Music will be provided by the parish choir, Carrie Miller and Emerson Younger at the later service. Sunday school resumes in the fall. Adult forum led by Glasspool will be at 9 a.m.

St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Pastor Quentin Fleming will preside at the 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. communion services. Sunday school is at 9:15 a.m.

Trinity Lutheran Church, Hagerstown, Pastor Eric Norgard will be preacher at the 8:30 a.m. praise worship. Church music Sunday will be celebrated at the 10:45 a.m. service. Jane Drawbaugh is lay assisting minister.

St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Smithsburg, the Rev. Mark Mooney's topic at the 9:30 a.m. Sunday communion service is No Fear. Mooney and his puppet friends also will give a children's sermon. Sunday school is at 10:45 a.m.
