How did you get into your business or what motivated you to start it?: Potbelly Creek is an extension of a home teaching studio in Indian Springs.

"As musicians and educators, we have been sharing the joy of music and performance over our lifetimes and wanted the opportunity to reach more students by developing a secondary base in Hagerstown."


Previous business experience: Parker began his studio career more than 20 years ago when he founded One World Studios in Washington, D.C. He has toured, produced and recorded with various artists and has appeared on several labels.

Silkey studied vocal performance at Towson University and has taught private piano lessons since 2003.

The pair performed with Maryland-based band Roots A' Risin' for eight years, writing, recording and performing in the mid-Atlantic region.
