Spring festival set for Saturday

On Saturday, Maugansville Baptist Church will hold its spring festival.

One of the features of the day is the display of yard sale items. There are plenty of tables available. If you need a table, let the church know so arrangements can be made for the accurate number of tables. Call 301-730-0505 to reserve a table.

The event will also feature food, inflatables and a dunk tank.

The public is invited to attend. It should be in full swing by 9 a.m.

Haven Lutheran plans summer worship services

Haven Lutheran Church will begin its summer worship schedule Sunday.

The days and times are as follows:

Saturdays at 5 p.m., spoken service and communion

Sundays at 8:15 a.m., traditional service in sanctuary

Sundays at 9:30 a.m., "Worship on the Lawn" (bring a lawn chair, casual dress)

Money bonanza to be held Saturday

The Maugansville Fire Co. will hold a Lucky 13 money bonanza Saturday at the Williamsport Fire Co. Tickets cost $30 per couple, which includes a meal and a chance to win up to $1,300.

Maugansville Fire Co. will hold a chicken barbecue Saturday, June 20, from 10 a.m. until sold out.

Soccer Club holding tryouts

The Hagerstown Soccer Club, Freedom '97 U-12 girls soccer team, will hold tryouts for the fall 2009/spring 2010 season at the soccer club at 13311 Cearfoss Pike, Tuesday, June 9, from 6 to 7 p.m. Tryouts are open to all girls born between Aug. 1, 1997, and Dec. 31, 1998 (those in the fifth and sixth grades).
