Human Society to present Staying Safe Around Animals

Discovery Station will host the Humane Society of Washington County for a presentation titled Staying Safe Around Animals Saturday, June 27, from 2 to 3 p.m.

The presentation will be given by shelter staff member Brian Filon and shelter volunteer Christine Clark. Registration costs $6 for those ages 6 to 17 and $7 for adults.

The presentation is aimed at helping children become aware of the proper behavior around animals that they are familiar with as well as animals they are not acquainted with. Proper interaction between humans and wildlife will be discussed.

A video will be shown, books will be read and a dog will be at the demonstration.
